What do you think of the statement that Jupiter in Capricorn is in fall

I know what it means, but I’m wondering what the rest of you think. Do you place a great deal of significance on falls? Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. I think of Jupiter as expansive, and Saturn the opposite.
Is Jupiter in fall a bad thing? Jupiter can be too expansive, generous, over-indulgent. Wouldn’t the sign of Capricorn and the influence of Saturn rein in the negative attributes of Jupiter? Or would the effect be restrictive and limiting. I’m seeing a miser who has made tons of money and still thinks he’s poor, but he’s happy to be that way.

aspicco always gives great answers, and I always feel humbled answering after he has, lol. I agree with all he said. I wanted to add that I have Jupiter in Capricorn, and I feel it is a benefit to me.
I’m not a miser at all. I’m the type of person who will give a handout, and I also give to a lot of charities and do volunteer work. On the other hand, I’m not sure if I would be this open about giving if I didn’t have Jupiter sextile to planets in my 6th.
Some of the wording back in the early days of astrology have definitions which aren’t similar to today’s meanings. I see what you say about the influence of Saturn reining in the over indulgences of Jupiter. I’m seeing it being more "practical" than "miserly".

A lot of the older terms in Astrology really need to be looked at anew. We live in a very different world these days.
Yes, I think Jupiter and Capricorn could find a healthy balance. I think the initial reasoning for its "fall" status is, Jupiter "naturally" encourages expansion. How does one expand in a Capricorn way? Not a smooth mix, but certainly not impossible. Other than your negative example, you could also imagine someone who refuses to grow and expand, but stays stuck in his/her old ways…
But I prefer the idea of steady, sure-footed growth…
